Ok......so before we start reading thru the book of Luke, I figure it's good to get the BIG picture first. Since the entire Bible points to Jesus, where does the Gospel of Luke fit in? In the words of my pastor:
Genesis - Malachi = ANTICIPATION
Matthew - John = MANIFESTATION
Acts = PROCLAMATION
Romans - Jude = EXPLANATION
Revelation = CONSUMMATION
So as we begin to read Luke, it's gonna' be about God "manifesting" - revealing or showing - Himself in the form of Jesus. YES - Jesus was and is God in the flesh.
The Gospel of Matthew presents Jesus as King, Mark presents Jesus as Servant, John presents Jesus as Son of God and the Gospel of LUKE presents Jesus as the Son of Man. How totally cool is it that we kick off our reading about the Jesus, "the Son of Man" who "came to seek and to save what was lost!"
It's gonna be sweeeeet!
